Poetry as catharsis is perhaps one of its biggest benefits. It has been argued that every type of poetry and every poem written is catharsis for both the writer and for readers that can relate to the piece in some way. We all have our crosses to bear and here at Dark Poetry, we write those emotions into poetic expression.
Hyperbole Hal has donated 20 ducats to the prizewinner of this contest.
Celebrate National Poetry Month with us by entering for a chance to win! The rules are very simple:
-Choose your best poem and enter it.
It should be a poem that is representative of you and your style as well as exhibiting catharsis in some form, which basically means that any and all pieces you have written and posted or plan to post are eligible for the prize.
So, that's it. Get to it! You have until the end of April to submit an entry. The winner will be chosen by a panel of at least two judges.
Happy National Poetry Month, Dark Poets!
