Fucked up Fantasy

By thesuccubusreturns

No fights, no wars, no needless violence.
No senseless killings, no starving children.
No theft, no crime, not hate
No woman raped, no missing people
No global warming or water crisis.
No unhappy faces peering at us through the television screen.

We live a sheltered life, yet we call it reality.
Sitting in our warm houses.
Thinking “oh that’s terrible”
Then turning of the TV and cuddling up to our lovers in a warm bed.

We waste the water. Use unneeded electricity to make our lives easier
We forget the staring child that pulled our heartstrings only minutes ago.
We forget the hardships of others. The death and destruction going on in our world
We see lost dreams and tortured soles, and do nothing to help them.

We live our lives looking through rose coloured glasses.
We see what we want to see and ignore the rest.
Escape the shackles that hold you in that world.
Help the starving child, rather than vaguely think about it

Tear yourself away from that fucked up fantasy world
And help me save the real one.

A siren-song to the sleeping, ignorant people in the world who would rather turn their heads than help others and face their own mortality. A nice write by you, Li, certainly compassionate.
