No life, lost
No love, lost
Could ever
Be replaced.

No hole
Could be filled
And be forgotten
What it was.

No red skied dawn
No dewdropped stars
Could patch together
Longing hearts.

No death
Could make us stronger
Than weaker
And sadder.
