The Methodology of Time

By Sepulcrawl

With the tick
Then the tock
Life draws slowly to its conclusion.

The life of a man, to pass
In misery from avarice.

The life of a planet,
Felled by design; into the
Interrogatives of extrapolation,
Sometimes not, but more often
Adrift in counting days

Until the grand collapse
Of solar heaves.
Gravitons diffuse
And sparse particles;

Now reaching inwards and
Counting their days till naught:
Downing fate.

    "Sometimes not, but more often Adrift in counting days." Has that "life is killing us vibe" that I love. Those first two lines were great for the imagery and sound. I saw Poe's clock in 'the black masque of the red death'. Write on.
