Tonight I wander alone
Like so many other nights
My happiness or sadness is mine
The shimmering lights or dark shadows
That only I can see
It is me

Numbness is where I find myself
Rambling through this endless dream
Just trying to find a path
through this murky existence
Of what is real and not
but that is me

Yesterdays are what haunt me
Knowledge based on experience
Always my curse and my hope
The cure and the disease
Really a conundrum
That is my life

Tomorrow is what scares me
It is not known
I may be forever lost
At least to the world around me
But I will always know
It is me
