The Moonlight Sonata

By Mathesix

"Musical muse, in faith and clear
Of apocalyptic apoplexy.
Strident in veritable verse.
Would that your light could erase."

Ashes fall to screen the essence and fade to black
The twilit embers, a soliloquy somber
In drawing tides and facetious facade

"Where is the man inside, when he is moonrocks
and lunar dust, solar wind lacking atmosphere?"

A solitary dance in incandescent glow
Bathed in the peace of a starlit canopy
Vestal liveried in virgin white
The betrothal shroud hangs through curtains drawn

What felt in love of an ancient vow
Her discourse courses like an arrow drawn
Misfired, Her marksman mistakes
A welling fount of bleeding ruminations

"A malicious maelstrom in these torrential tears
Awash in this sea of guilt I drown!"

An effigy eulogizing a liturgy of laments
To cast a shadow on a once fair visage
Silver streaks of marring shame
Alight on cheeks aflame
Burning such as snowflakes on a blasphemous tongue

Creating absence in absinthe, absent the cause
In fortune's disgrace, whispers outcast lies
With sufferings touch, her soul's oft found flaws
To trouble the heavens with pitying cries
Unremarked, her gaze unbidden did sweep
To that celestial orb, her prayers found
A receptical to ease her sufferage deep
A quicksilver blessing remains unrenowned
"This, my sweet love, I do at your behest.
"May this dagger find its home nestled in my breast"
