The Jaded Dragon Man

By icebat

Across the black desert sand the man with a dragon soul marched
Walking for years, his inhuman eyes never stop the search,
And though his resolve was strong his body was parched,
So after a while he started to lurch.

Then on the horizon was a dark oasis,
In the middle was a sword stuck fast in the mire,
In a flash the dragon man remembered many fallen faces,
And from his mouth let forth a yell of sulfuric fire.

The pain of thousands of years in an instant flashed,
As he knelt to drink the dark water which looked like blood,
It reminded him of ancient enemies and so his teeth gnashed,
So back on his feet he rose, adrenalin came in a flood.

Back on the march, no time to bed,
His eyes filled were molten fury,
For he had a giant task ahead,
The dragon man continued toward the castle in a hurry.
