My Feet are Aching
By waterchica999
(From The Beautiful Mind of My Sister, Crystal)
It's not okay, nothings fine.
Take a bath, soak out the lies.
Stroll through the day
ignore the staring flies
Let the saddness fade,
my blurry vision begins to dry.
My mind begins to wonder into the maze of what is my heart.
Can't stay much longer, it's a little too dark.
On the way out the flickering light of a memory
begins to dim.
The memory of you in the begining
is now slowly dimming.
We could make this work
we could somehow try
we should make this work
please don't, don't let me cry
Then I see you in the distance,
lost Looking for something, Looking for me,
I put down my sugar with coffee and somehow
catch your eye
I smile because it tickles
when the glaciers begin to move slowly in my veins.
What is left to say
you give me a smirk, like if you know.
LIKE IF YOU KNOW
the countless names and nameless faces that scream in agony and defeat
under the soles of both my feet
so I giggle at the very thought
that one day I could be found
a smudge under your old shoe rack
And you laugh,
because you find my subtle clues to run
foolish...
You find my hands and attempt to warm my frozen fingers.
As I appreciate the pointless gesture
I notice hope and how it lingers on your shoulders.
I ponder at how heavy it must be and almost instantly
I feel your pain,
as it begins to dance on your chest.
Growing with each breath so unwillingly
all while you kiss my hand so lovingly,
poor thing...
So I hold you without hesitation,
As intense as I find the sensation it doesn't keep me from listening....
we could make this work,
run,
we could some how try,
run,
we should make this work,
run,
Please don't, don't let this die...
RUN!
