Well-known Stranger

By Hello Dead Kitty

Passing by a stranger today,
I not once hesitated to lock eyes with this fellow being.
A fleeting glance, at best,
Would only be exchanged.
A sensation so foreign took me over with a fury
Frightening and unexpected.
This stranger’s eyes became glazey and magnetized,
Not allowing mine eyes to look away.
A warm rush of an intoxicating sensation took over my body,
My mind, my soul.
Suddenly I became naked to this stranger.
My entire tale he was being told.
My pain was laid out for him to openly explore.
And I welcomed this.
Instantly he knew of the heartache
As told in my private soul.
My anguish and my tears became clear to the stranger-
He understood for their need.
A comfort came over me, as if he were a force
There to privately save me.
I knew that he cared.
Even though we were strangers,
For this moment he made me feel
Less like my usual self,
Complete with my breaking heart and painful thoughts.
For just this fleeting moment
The stranger felt to me to be my savior
And with the last, somewhat lingering glance we exchanged,
I felt as though I was saved.

Strangers have always mesmerized me- as a person who walks on the streets often, this has never happened to me. Your write was vivid, simple in its beauty, sincere. Not once you mentioned the word 'soulmate' or such, as it happens when a moment like this is described... This is quite original.
