(There's no place like No-where)

By AnotherWitheredRose

"I'm not dead," she said.
My heart just barely beats.
And she looked at me with those eyes she did not need,
For she could not perceive what was real from what were dreams.
"I just want to disappear."

"I know the feeling," I said.
(As I look down at the grass)
"I think I'm dreaming now"
(It has never been such a pretty shade of blue)
"Everything seems so…distant."

She understands, I thought…
She took my hand to prove how close she was.

Somewhere in the midst of our journey through the weeds…
We got down on our knees and prayed to a bleeding sun.

"Please, in this 7th dream, let us be free…
Let us be airborne like the birds."
(more majestic than words)
"So we can fly away from each hell."

I'm not sure how much time had passed.
For I had risen from several dazed days,
But all the different moons caused the confusion.

Awake for the 7th time…
I knew just where to find her.
(There's no place like No-Where)

We stood beneath the burning circle.
And took in it's wrath, it's rays slicing multiple layers of our soul.
But we had let go.

I looked at her eyes just then and she was crying blood.
I held her in my arms, and felt what I believed to be a friends love.
I began to weep those red tears but I had forgotten my fears.

When our backs at last split apart,
And tattered wings proved capable of flight,
We took sandpaper to the skies…
