Trying to Stay Alive
By PoeticHellion
Those half a dozen drunken nights,
Sitting with your bottle,
Never giving up the fight.
Drinking yourself to new heights,
Finger on the throttle, in
Those half a dozen drunken nights.
Holding on with all of your might,
Tears streaming with no one to coddle,
Never giving up the fight.
Turn out the lights,
Throw back a lot’ll,
Those half a dozen drunken nights.
Holding on so tight,
Trying hard not to spill—don’t want to mottle,
Never giving up the fight.
So in your pious plight,
Don’t gve in to your near-empty bottle,
Those half a dozen drunken nights,
Never giving up the fight.
