Seasonally Insignificant

By SorrowSoul

Insignificantly positioned beneath grey skies
Picturesque crafted mountainous beauty at my back
Amidst the presence of glacial flow
This is the space in time I own
No destructively disturbing sights
No mind crippling considerations
No walking plague
Nothing but a hollow existence and serenity of nature
Seclusion in synthetic absence
Opportunity to reflect on years disappeared
Crisp autumn breeze passes softly
Carrying with it leaves drained of life
This is Earth’s natural dying season
Like the wilted flower at my side
It died with my unintentional caress
Symbolizing everything my life touches
With world at bay, that lingering thought creeps in
The reason I am dead inside, I failed
How have I survived this long without you?
Surrounded by perfection
And all I can think about is loss
Skipping stones at the waters edge
Advancing towards shadow
Fading into nothingness
Lost and forgotten
Change is inevitable
Frozen wasteland until rebirth
But that seems almost impossible, so far away
Soon this flawlessness will be encased by darkness
Moments pass, nothing else matters
And I am forced to return
To a place where I am the nothing that matters not
