Unsatisfied

"There is nothing to wish for" -May Swenson
[There is nothing to wish for]
I am wretched and defiled.
I ate my heart and smiled.
The caverns caged within my ribs
are dank, and cold, and tiled.
[There is nothing to wish for]
The thoughts this brain has sired
have left my body warm and tired.
Your quiet care was not enough -
It's your obsession I desired.
[There is nothing to wish for]
Nothing?
There is plenty to wish for.

Your rhyme is smooth and strong... well done. The only wish worth wishing is to never wish to wish again...

I like the last line here. It is hopeful almost inspite of the previous admonitions. Very good write. -Gideon
