Oathe of Silence

By Empathy

The shock silences you
Unable to fathom my words
Could life really be so cruel
The thought is too absurd

Disbelief leaves you mute
But I aim to silence
Facts are there to dispute
Did I conjure up such violence?

See these pieces as my haven
No need to question the events
Confuse them with a need of saving
Pity is all that makes sense

Nothing was created with you in mind
Never considered expectations or taste
Not a word was meant for your eyes
They will never go to waste

You praise inablility to hold back
As long as it's in love's lament
Neglect and abuse are a bit off track
Isolate me and don't comment

Is that place for the alone
Or the clueless, misguided youth
All of those cries I've outgrown
Disappointment in this truth

Back to live inside myself
A reclusive to the core
Foolish to think this would help
An oathe of silence forever more
