Atomized Tears

By peril_notion

My tears have begun to atomize from
Bluer eyes that have seen far too much
And they have lost all meaning as well
Whatever volume of water surrounds you
Could never realize the gift you gave it
The gift you gave us all by dying young,
Dying unafraid, dying to the fullest extent
Here I am at seventeen with so little to show
For my years on this earth, plodding through
Like everything good will happen tomorrow
Perhaps that’s the lesson to take away from this
Goodbye is the hardest to word to utter today
You’ll always be at our sides as we grieve and
I wonder when you would tell us to move on
Something tells me you’d be a hardass about it
But it doesn’t sway my atomized tears nor does
It bring closure to this amazing life you led
Though all I really knew about it was from
Jagerbombs and stoicism and enthused rage
At everything that was wrong with the world
But maybe we can make it right this time
This page is too heavy to turn at the moment
So let me read these terrible words over and over
Until it truly sinks home and I can move forward
And hopefully use your death as a sign that I
Am nowhere near living my life to the fullest

I am stuck on the eighth line: are you really 17? What an outstanding talent you are. This is extremely well crafted, insightful and all-around damn impressive stuff.
