Scrambled Eggs

By Nightwing

I don’t know much
I know everything
I have nothing to say
If I tell you
You wouldn’t believe me anyway
Get caught up in a routine
Work for the clock
Made by man
Go outside
Take a deep breath
Look up at the endless expanse of sky
Set yourself free
And wonder, where is the greater glory?
Work two jobs
And still be under the average income
Struggle to keep what you have
Is it really yours?
Or does the bank own it
Hoping you default
So they can pass it to the next innocent
Who signs papers in bewilderment
And has the same dream you once had…
Ah, I work for you
You don’t own me
I live here
But I don’t own it
Possessions are as elusive as the rock
That tumbles in the tide
Try to grab it
And it’s pulled out of reach
Then disappears from sight
Walk across the sand
Hear the voice of the ocean
An echo of a higher wisdom
With wisdom comes power
The power to refresh
To cleanse
To destroy
It’s wisdom that decides what to do
At just the right time
No clock here
Universal timing
Insane ramblings
With pen and paper
No glitz or glamour
Just a rant
Whose meaning is lost
Because you forgot
How to read between the lines
Scrambled eggs
Inside my head
I leave you with a thought
Count your pennies
And your precious belongings
Everything worthy of a dollar sign
Then count your blessings
Everything you have
That money just can’t buy
Whichever pile is larger
Is where your riches lie
….. Are you happy?
