The Love of a Man

By Lexicon

I have traveled through the firey chasm of hell,
Under a constant film of sorrow's veil.

I have scrapped my soul, and was too tired to stand,
all because I longed for the love of this man.

I have battled the superego over and over again,
To win the war over the id's desire for him.

Living only on the mere hope that we could be more than friends,
If given a chance, I would do it over again.

Now I linger, in still sadness once more,
Waiting for my lover to return to the shore.
