Ignorance is Bliss

By MABUS

Subliminal messages
In my head

Radio waves
Sweeping the nation

Media advertisment
Controlling the youth

Billboard signs
Neon lights

Overwelming messages
Of corporate businesses

We are not a nation
Of democracy

We are a nation of
Sitcoms and playstations

We are controlled
Through entertainment

We hide from the
Truth

In our fancy apartments
And technological gadgets

We don't care
As long as we are entertained

In our nation today
Ignorance is truly bliss

We are desappointed and sad
If our favorite T.V. show is cancelled

Yet we are indifferent
Tword starvation and illiteracy

We laugh at the homeless guy
And cry over a broken DVD player

We have truly lost
Morals and humanity

We have abandoned all morals
For self desires

And become the slaves
The government desires

damn your good...epic accuracy in this.....I think it's hard for most people to abandon there pride and realize they need to take control of there own mind, I know I stuggle sometimes....this should be a mandatory read:)elisa

i think you attempted some type of structure, but you didn't really follow it through out. other than that, i really like the content, and totally agree. ^Autumn^
