Moths and Butterflies

By dropsofhate

scribbling across the face
of this life
just like you showed me.
you always told me it was
what makes living right.

stabbing at tomorrows back,
this is what you get for the months,
and years,
for keeping me so off track.
so far away from time.

pinning down this happiness
that always finds a way to confuse my mind.
I want you in this spot forever.
no longer will you be able to leave my side.

this is for the moths that come in October.
and this is for the butterflies.

ripping photographs of last years skies.
they seemed to twinkle so much brighter
the skies diamonds.
I bet they didnt even try.

Bleeding like there is tomorrow.
I see that you see me stare.
you always seem so afraid,
that you might some day die.

Shaking your head at all the staring nods.
did you really think that you where right?
for taking my tomorrow?
for moths and butterflies?

this is for the moths that come in October.
and this is for the butterflies.

I really like the line "stabbing at tomorrows back" and "this is for the moths that come in October. and this is for the butterflies" In fact I like all the use of metaphor you used in this piece, it is certainly unique
