Garden Nocturne
By Elizabeth
Green gardens grow black once daylight fades,
Rosebuds of blood, the yellows turn gray.
Seeds of malice nestled deep in the night,
Sillohets hinted at, tinted moonlight.
In silence I stroll, my woes to bare,
A back breaking burden that none can share.
If only some soul could see my spirits lifted,
But alas, I fear they're none so gifted.
This Garden Nocturne I've grown on my own,
preverse as it is, of my own device.
These are the seeds that I've sown,
for companions my thoughts must suffice.
The sun never shines, it's always night here,
Bounty of blooms nurtured by lunar light,
Time passes by, unaware of years,
forever suspended in neverending night.
Obscure figures cast twisting shadows,
Knotty limbs knocking like terrified knees,
To much for my liking I'm reminded of gallows,
as I catch distant whispers riding the breeze.
Soon the leaves dry, wither and die,
As fall becomes winter in the Garden Nocturne.
Seasons pass by without you and I,
Reasons I fear I'll never learn.

Beautifully dark, but without trespassing into the region of melodrama; certainly a rarity, here. One small correction - it's "silhouette." Other than that... beautifully done!
