Leprechaun
By ashottothetemple
There he sits
Almost a lost soul
Atop a gravestone
A funny little creature
Piping his bowl
Swinging his legs
Back and forth
To and fro
Jagged little smile
Haunting eyes
Shackled boots
Whispering rhymes
A glimmering top hat
Knickers of a dark shade
Wicked emerald jacket
Almost Jade
Black leather bowtie
A twisted limb
Right by his side
It aided him
Cringing as he steadies
Upon the soil
Chewing on
A fresh picked boil
Hobbling away
We heard him cry
A devil's tale
And a lullaby
Back in the shadows
From where he dwells
Hinder off into a fog
To bask in hell
Curiosity, they say
killed the cat
Ours left us dead
Right where we sat

I love those last lines. They're killer...totally nailed the whole point of the poem. Spectacular.
