A means to an end- an end to a beginning.
By violetflames
Love
has
given
me
reasons
to
live
Love
has
given
me
reasons
to
die
Given a wound, the mark of a stolen reflection
You make me weak
you make me breathless
they make me fail
and leave me fallen
I've stared into this place
long ago I found solace
Now only the whisper of the Ghost of Love's Past
Hollowed by the screams of the Ghost of Love's Present
And I hear a siren's voice telling my story
"All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change my dear
Boys get discovered as winter MELTS"
Echoing and bleeding
Bleeding and caressing
Dying and melting
Cast away and forgotten
Used, a familiar feel I may never forget
Given a name - undeserving
And I miss you, but I've missed you for so long
It doesnt matter if I do again for another life time.
You will fight on your own terms,
or you may not fight at all
Choosing the latter may cost you my life.

Some brilliant word choices and turns of phrase here...There's a melancholy here I found comfort within...Like sharing the pain of a broken heart with another and discovering solace in each the other's loss.

This was wonderful. I especially liked the last two stanzas. Very sad but very well written. ~Ship!

The title fits nicely. Evocative piece. Lovely.
