The Island

By Emma Tenebrae

The Island

This island is magical, one we know.
Alive and thriving by it's ability to grow.
Charged with fire and fueled by spirit.
surrounded by water so only the invited can near it.
Made with earth and bursting with heart;
Fashioned with love to give it a start.

The island I speak of is with us all. It is that individual vessel we all enjoy. When the tide is low our bridges exposed we link together with others to move forward through life. Exposing bridges and joining with others. When the tides rise we are hard to approach protecting us from the storms we must withstand. Hiding bridges or flooding them to keep out what we may or may not need in our lives.
This living island need not stop us from joining forces through our hearts and souls. It is merely a host as we pass through. We can populate our island with love and kindness and watch as it flourishes day after day or we can keep the tides high and sheltered from all and keep our island barren.
It is the island's master, our consciousness which drive our daily lives, that defines how our island grows. Will you have your island lush and green with peaks and valleys teaming with life from being open to what life has to share? Perhaps you would prefer it to be lifeless and dry, hard and cold by keeping life at bay?

The choice is yours to create whatever island you prefer. So make your choices count.
