troy's bucket

By theBAC

goodbye to my family
so long my loved ones
my childhood has ended now
all i had is gone
what happens on the road ahead
you can never tell
i’m looking back
and dreaming of
my 21 wishing well

the song said “tuesday’s gone”
and you never did believe
burning away our childish dreams
and adolescent fears
destroy forgotten hopes
to relive teenage years
put on Smokey & The Bandit
and toss me another beer
we don’t know it yet
but soon i won’t be here

in the land of ivory bullets
with sparkling chromium shells
i’m lost and being found
still searching for
my 21 wishing well
