Blinded by day, hidden by night
Struggle to make things right.
Wishing time could stand still,
So empty, try to fill
What's missing in the heart,
A burning need that won't part.
Blinded by day
It burns hope away.
Forever sinking
While always thinking
Of each opportunity,
Slipping by like branches of a tree
Falling, can't get a hold
Landing in a pit so cold.
Stuck in a nadir full of self-doubt
And realizing there's no way out.
Left with nothing but waiting,
In the mind self-debating
Until hidden by night,
Stopping the fight.
Hanging head in shame,
It's always the same.
Success can't be seen,
It's a long lost dream
Hanging just out of reach,
Choking all speech.
Nothing left but to walk away;
Nothing but sorrow to stay.
Can't see the dying hope in their eyes;
Only knowing embarrassment in failed tries
Until out of sight,
Blinded by day, hidden by night.
