Prisoner of the Moonbeams

By M4V3rIcK

(The following is a poem inspired by Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion series)

I am a prisoner, forever doomed
to wander the Moonbeams
traveling to different
worlds and times.

For centuries I have traveled
always changing from one form
to the next, never ceasing, never
ending, never knowing who or
what I shall become.

I have slain both Good and Evil
Gods and Demons,
Kings and Princes,
Loved Ones and Enemies.

I have seen the rise of
countless Kingdoms and
caused the fall of countless more

I have been called a Demon and
a Saint, a Savior and a Destroyer,
a Bringer of Life and a
Harbinger of Death.

I yearn for the day when
I'll finally rest and be free
of this Hellish Cycle
of Death and Rebirth
and will be the
Eternal Champion no
more and forever be
free of
The Moonbeams
