Gaia: Part I
By Jadednoir
Are you blue, or are you Gray
Oh Gaia, if you could talk, what would you say?
Unlike humankind, I never
Like the silent had nothing to say
Until man had his way.
Am named now, am given voice
Word for word and no mistake
My wisdom will be heard
Your works are on display
in this age, you have flowered in so many ways
in, yet life devalues day by day.
all these meticulous forays
to conquer nature's way.
Man once kept at bay
Now they play twenty-four hours a day.
This tragic state of affaires
The smell of money in the air
Beware, it could all fall in a single day
Go ahead, pray
Worship your idols, deities draped in gold
Your immortals are mortal
They were fashioned to your likeness and bestowed
Given glory, given praise
Scribed with the grafetti of yesterday
Your history is short, your little lives pass by
The true immortal am I
Have seen it all
Watched civilizations raise and fall
The cycles of prescession they come and go
Wheels of time humankind will never know
A thousand years is but a day
Remember man, nature has it's way
to be concluded......

'Scribed with the grafetti of yesterday' There is the breath of Morrison, William Blake & Sophocles in this powerful sketching of poetry; 'we are all only immortal, for a limited time,' as such are the painted gods & idols.
