Mortal's Marrow
By Moodswing
Acidic bile threatens to stifle the screams
Grasping for that one final breath
Praying to any being you think will redeem you
Pathetic
Weak
Revolting
Crumbling resolve turning a steel will into water
Constant glances over one's shoulder
Graveling for assistance from those assisted
Fading
Loathsome
Repugnant
Reduced to feral gruntings like one awaiting slaughter
Splayed fingers attempting to hide the fear
Spilling salted rivers of regret
Insubstantial
Faltering
Invisible
Don't avert your eyes
Drink in the truth
Admit what you are
At your core
Your very substance
A mortal's marrow

*At loss for the right words* I love the imagery, and the feeling you've created with this poem. It brings to mind some haunted, tortorous tale. Awesome write. C-ya. ~ Asheai
