Prejudice
By LIFEINVADER
When children go untaught,
father's threat echoes in thought,
the dark man will come for you,
if my command you do not pursue.
And still to this day we believe,
fear grips the land, makes us grieve,
something wicked is sure to occur,
evil arrives, without a cure.
As terror grows into the night,
doors and gates secured, held tight,
backs drenched, hands quivering,
all fear the dark man, shivering.
He creeps in darkness, sly and sly,
if you're not good, he'll make you cry,
trust no stranger, that's the plan,
such nightmares and delusions span.
And still to this day we hold true,
the mob, with weapons, comes into view,
oh, they can't resist, they just can't quit,
shouting fire in the streets, bit by bit.
As fear grows into the night,
no eyes closed, all in fright,
backs drenched, hands quivering,
all fear the dark man, unyielding.
Who fears the dark man, do you know?
Who fears the dark man, in the end, will show?
Who fears the dark man, who can?
All fear the dark man.
Dark man, dark man,
why must you make us tremble and ban?
Why can't we see you as a friend?
Why must this fear never end?

I love the phrasing. I wish I wrote so eloquently.
