The Abyss Within

By LIFEINVADER

In the darkness,
I wander alone,
terrified by the night's unknown,
I reach for the stars, in vain,
as the light fades, and darkness reigns.

The void consumes me, with no end,
guided by the darkness, my only friend,
shadows paint my inner walls,
as I am consumed by sorrow's thralls.

In the abyss, I am lost,
my screams, unheard at any cost,
an empty shell, of who I used to be,
forever trapped, in this darkness, I will be.

Awesome flow, effortlessly pulls the reader through. “Shadows paint my inner walls”, really perfect line. Excellent
