Hallow Day

By God Is In The Rain

Hallow evening's rising past
a battle destined to be last
the age-old strife in final state
between the love and between hate
hero and villain eye to eye
both let out last battle cry
and Leaves they clap and Trees they bow
as they witness final blow

dressed in black and with cold breath
for the villain comes the Death
and promises of simple chores
dress the land in hopeful roars
just the hero's standing still
on the top of Hallow Hill
lips shut tight, eyes open wide
a simple thought torments the mind

as the righteous go their ways
as the corrupt to their graves
world's been saved - but now, what now?
the Time won't pull weeds war had sown
and like a flower wishing shade
just to then wilt under its blade
they're now unable to avoid
to see their own soul fill with void

Mist comes in as party ends
Night hides all glory-blinded friends
then with a fulfilled dying wish
the hero enjoys their last dish
a Hallow weapon once again
prepares to drag Death from her plane
the heroes blood basks in Moons glow
as,
once more,
they
greet
their
Foe.

Authors Note:
It was supposed to be a critique of one dimensional protagonists who's only objective is to "defeat the bad guy"... I'm not sure if I've archived that... Still, maybe it's because it's late when I'm posting this, but I'm quite proud of this one, so if you could rip it to shreds for me that'd be awesome. (for the record, I'm not being salty, I mean that - If you like it enough to take time out of your busy life - for free no less - to pick apart its flaws whether on surface or deep down to help the future me to one day improve it/use the knowledge to make something better, I always find that more encouraging than... well... comments of encouragement)
