Harvest Moon

By watercolor

Iridescent flower in full bloom,
bejeweled chrysanthemum
upon the Golden Fleeced Dragon Throne
refulgent! Presides the Bacchic feast
Her opaline mantle rapturously scintillates
through the forest of our eyes-
into the burrow of our souls, the stave has been cast!
Chiron's lance pierces the rabbit's heart
shedding tears, dying grass of our memories
libation over the earth for next year's crop
consecration of the mooncake and black cherry wine

The Cosmic Elk bellows and prances
tympanon drums thunder Pan flutes flutter
'He of the trees', bedecked in ivy, tiger-skin-clad
flares with ravish chants and dances
wielding the Labrys double-axe! Terrified
Prudence has fled with Themis on the Sol barge
Open lies the left-hand path! Cobbled in black diamond
scented with frankincense, lined with apple blossom
Oh! Fair-hair'd Master embrace the revelers
and along with your snake girded Nymphs
imbue us with consummate agape

Euoi! Euoi!! Euoi!!!

I especially liked the imagery of the cosmic elk bellowing and prancing, I could picture that. Ciao, T/S Scholar
