Mercury

By Paradoxology

~ Mercury ~

In the sunset of a lost illusion
In the fading light the night was brought
Like the moon between the sky and water
One was there and one was not

In the notebook of a starless island
In the candlelight my life was caught
In the words between the pen and paper
None remembered, none forgot

In the sunrise of a distant morning
In a vision you came back to me
Through the glass between the boy and mirror
Flowed your silver blood reflecting me
From the boat between the sand and sea
Where your final words unheard were not,

“Heaven's child, destroyed in me
None of this was meant to be
I was blind but I could see I loved you
But I loved you not”

this slipped past me when you originally posted. So glad I went spelunking through the works list.
