Yesteryears

By Tagen

Such sadness...
Only she would know.
The bridges we embark upon,
Lighting our torches,
Then daring ourselves to cross
Without ever taking a step toward the cause.

The fear we hold
Has kept us caged.
We wrap our lion claws
Around the bars
And roar inwardly.

Why?

Isolation.. desolation.
Riptide's the force
For our siren song.
Who would love us all along?

I remember
Fire and thunder,
And the forever slumber,
As time erases us.

Forfeiting friendship,
For fear feels like safety
When no one really knows us.

My dear ~ don't speak
If you don't want to.
I remember.
I'll find you.
