Seasick

By Brandon

I couldn't bear to stomach the thought
All the time we put in, and the battles we fought,
Our hands and lips, never again will they meet
The tide on the shore, sweeps me off of my feet.

I couldn't stare at this ocean, and not see your face.
I couldn't smell the sea, and be torn from this place.
A calming touch, to set things alright.
A low ghastly weeping, throughout the night.

As my stomach churns, and for you I yearn,
I know it's my fault, my bridge to burn.
I'm falling down, back to my face
My pitiful actions, mark me a disgrace.

In time all will heal, and put back in place
Image of one another, gone without a trace
My heart full of nothing but gold,
The casting around it, blackened by coal.
