You never lived

By imfine

Oh what it would have been
To actually meet you
And not just hold you
You never got the chance to live
He stole you from me
I never got to hold you in my arms
I never got to look into your eyes
I never got to count your fingers and toes
I never got to kiss your button nose
The only time I got to see you
Was on a black and white computer screen
I heard your heartbeat
Your heart that never got to beat true
I saw your lungs
Your lungs that never got to breathe
He stole you from me
You weren't his to steal
I miss you so much
Even though you never lived
