Unknown Soldier

I can’t sleep at night
I fear the unknown
In darkness I tremble
Down to the bone
I know what is in the night
What hunts me
As its prey
It’s green glowing heat
Is coming nearer
Surrounding me
My heart is racing
As I prepare for my fate.
Something hits me hard and fast
It’s here for me.
The end
Determined to fight
I dare to lift my head
I open my eyes
Stinging with sweat
And see in my thrashing
I’ve only fallen out of bed.
