Connections: Face to Face
By felicity0444
Busy being busy
That’s our life today.
Connections come and go
Like fireflies doing their dance.
Blinking in and out of existence
Without even a passing glance.
Occasional bewilderment
And a mild sense of shock
Face to face interaction.
All from looking up.
A little nervous shuffle
You stumble through the set
Face to face interaction
There’s only time to guess.
No rewriting here
Edits don’t exist.
Close your eyes and wonder
Are they really even there?
People all around us
In little worlds of their own.
Looking down into oblivion
It’s like being all alone.
People are impressed
When unlike all the rest
You meet them eye to eye
You put them to the test.
Face to face Interaction
Don’t you waste my time.
Human to human
No glass screens.
No likes to worry us
No retweets.
Human nature
A connection shared
Person to person
Familiarity…
Take the time to wonder
Take the time to see
What a face to face interaction
Would really mean.

This was clever and brilliant. I enjoyed how you took the concept and made it your own. This is by far one of your greatest and strongest works!

Thank you! Some say I have an odd perception of the world. I prefer unique! ;)

A rumination about our modern times... in a pace I loved, almost a song. I wonder, when was the last time I really spoke face to face to a person? I really loved the 'retweet' rhyme you slipped in there. He he.

Crazy what you see when you bother to look up. Thank you so much!
