Abigail Knight

By azazeleriolwolf

There is a tale lost in time thru ancient lore and myth,
Some say by faith that it be true while others swear it don't exist.
Many centuries ago there dwelled in times of old,
This is the life of Abigail Knight...and in truth her story told.
She was another one forsaken a pariah lot her fate,
With eyes cast down to search the ground for the path that she must take.
To be led by the moon lit night amongst the graves she calls her home,
She bears a cross upon her heart that is hewn with heavy stone.
She was abandoned as a child for she bore a cloven tongue,
That often flicked between her fangs for a demon spawn she was.
Who's mother loved an incubus and thru lust it filled her womb,
For with a birth there came a death...the babe was left to fend its own.
She then made due on dew damp tombs to live as peaceful as she could,
For all despised and turned aside this demon child's brood.
She sought approval from all others only wanting to be loved,
Until it came that fateful day her heart had changed and longed for blood.
Now filled with rage from life estranged deprivation seen it sown,
Such seething scorn swell her soul soon all would see and know.
She'll make them pay for what they've done unto those who caused her grief,
For mercy they will beg and pray as they grovel at her feet.
Though she'll not heed a single plead their cries will fall on deafened ears,
Exacting vengeance with a scourge a hundred lashes for each tear.
She conquered all throughout the land not a beast of burden spared,
Then raised a flag of pitchest black,The Queen of Shadows...tyranny declared.
She wore a crown upon her brow crafted from human bone,
And severed heads from all the dead and sat upon them as a throne.
''Now heed my voice those great and small my word is law and most supreme.
I kill where i wish and none dare resist..I am The Shadow Queen!
I drink the blood and eat the flesh of whom I choose I will devour.
My kingdom's eternal and all in subjection...Now tremble in fear at my power!!!
It will be known both far and wide across every land and sea,
That the village in which I was born brought this calamity to be.
It was cause they had turned away a lost child with no home.
Now for their folly all will suffer desolation evermore!
I'll scorch the earth with pitch and torch till nothing else remains,
But smoke and ash and curse the day they invoked the demon that's in me!''
And so all fared in great despair until the day in which she died,
But none were glad nor could rejoice for her spirit still abides,
to haunt the children of the children every generation for all time.
For down the line of each blood kin all violently had died.
And to this day still many say should you speak her name outloud,
She'll come that night to take your life the next day your body found,
With raking wounds across your throat both your eyes and heart ripped out,
Your organs too have been removed and intestines strewn about,
to make a macrame' a macabre artwork sustained,
Crucified with iron spikes to a tree then set aflame.
Then all who see will then believe as they witness with their eyes,
The fate ordained to fall on those.....who doubt.....about.....Abigail Knight.
