Such Vanity

By WitheredRoses

Striking features,
Such a pretty face.
Eyes like copper,
A smile that melts their hearts.

Such vanity.

How long until they see?
That face is nothing more than cheap makeup tricks,
Those eyes,
A placid gateway to where you're soul should be,
Hollow and dark they sink in to your face.
And that smile of yours?
Those perfect porcelain teeth?
Oh, it melts alright,
But it isn't my heart.

You're a prime example
Of just how slimy humans can be.
You've disguised your disgusting soul
With clever tricks and vanity.

While they're all marveling in your "beauty",
I'm holding back vomit.
The games you play,
The things you do,
How could you expect anyone to love you for you?
