Realization of Reality

By Moodswing

Bound

Held captive by my own mind

Watching from behind
two rain splattered windows
Echoed laughter ringing
Haunting my dreams
Stealing my sanity

Silent screams fill the darkness
Spiraling into some vast abyss
Reaching for anything to grasp
Hopelessness blinds my eyes

But wait...a hand

Not a ghostly vision sent to taunt
Flesh, real and strong
Holding onto that one lifeline
A smile dares to turn my lips

Dangling no more from that precipice
Finding unsure steps upon this solid ground
Arms enfold the orphaned spirit
Sensations lost awaken
Timid glances towards this light
Mocking eyes not turned to me

What is this?
Am I to believe that this is real?
Could fate have taken pity upon me?
Nothing left but to embrace
Arms outstretched
Eager to surround
Enclosing upon my salvation
My hope, my faith, my love

And I am left holding the mist
A shadow of yesterday
Where I am bound.....
