Cyanide Verses I
By SummonerOfShadows666
Prologue
"For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of disprised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin?"
-William Shakespeare, Hamlet (1601)
...and here is one whole poem,
A compilation of philosophical thought.
Will leave the dear reader stoic -
Or remain in frozen lethargy aloft?
Verses so tragic, soul-crushing
You make the choice: destroy everyone or yourself?
I
Tears running down in torrents
Words metamorphosed from somber thoughts
I silently weep for their fate
As the stars lament for my misery
Slashing my wrists to hide the pain
I can feel morphine on the blade
Anti-depressants to poison the mind
A dark, toxic aether leeches like mercury
Swallowing worthless ambition
My life is the perfect catastrophe
I have long contemplated suicide
Blood is what holds me in one piece
Today the roses had turned black
A minute later a storm erupts
The next hour the skies paints itself gray
My emotions are like that of Nature's - forsaken
My heart is a reservoir of grief
Currents and streams of crimson innocence
A myriad leagues closer to sorrow
To drown a sick lunatic
I am the bard who suffers
Tongues as sharp as razors cut deep into my soul
My verses deserve spit and scorn
As my pen rusts and paper decays
Cyanide verses tears the heart
Strips a person of his/her sanity-
While the emotion implodes
With Fate's wings I shall follow
II
Prisoner abandoned by society
A young outcast and delinquent
The masses mock his personality
Shatters his dignity to million pieces
He was a person who deserved love
Dragged to damnation by whatever reason
The reason speculated was damaged looks
People treated him like broken toys
Left alone to face the consequences
Deem the freezing cold unbearable
The winter of isolation and rejection
Warms his beating, bleeding heart
Forgotten by time
Does a broken man exist
To illuminate forth
The light of his reckoning
Writhe and shock to crush a sin
Smokescreen of hatred flames
The heat within illuminates darkness
And embers to spread the inferno
And thus, he found sanctuary by the fire
To build an altar of his hellish doom
Summoned forth by his burning desire
To destroy himself in his room
Candles beside the cadaver forseen
Lights himself with its flickering beams
Cleansing himself with gasoline
Set forth the match to end his dreams
Fragrances of intercoursing fumes
Smoke engulfing the worthless soul
And remains of the creature damned
Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust he falls
Fate of Icarus and Cleopatra, guide me
Into your vaults and halls of demise
Distort the ambitions and integrity
So that I may follow thee in peace
III
Shattered gems, beautiful shards
Of a ruined, wretched maiden
Broken by mirages of a romance
Depression-ridden to hell she glanced
Messed hair to bruise the heart
Living the life that rips her apart
No one hears her subtle cries
Close to the edge she holds on tight
Behind her distorted flaws
A scheme unfolds to damn those who
Had wronged her; it was everyone
IV
Everlasting schadenfreude pessimism
A pistol to their heads to silence the agony
Embracing Death as it goes forth
Numb sorrows to dark emotion smirking
On the deep, narrow mire of the flesh
Corpses on the bedroom
Kissing Death's twisted allure
Reverie of sudden forsaken sin
Visions of internal pestilence
Drink your innocence and wipe the blood off your hands
The faces on the water has not forsaken their demise
Crimson mercury boiling in the burning sand
The tempest of tempests unleashes fury
Awakes the man you weren't

This Gave me life. So very spine-tingling to me as it brings back the memories of attempts...I admire this.
