In the end
By Steven86175
Let's pop bottles
And cut our wrists
Let's escape our promises
And act on impulse
Till the pulse is gone
Because tonight is our end
We could never find our place in this fucked up world and never have to
try to again
So let's live it up like McConaughey
L-I-V-I-N
Because we're all disposable as well as replaceable
Let's escape this never ending journey through a pogonip
And go bottoms up
I'm gonna put my nose to this fine white chopped line and snort
Because I can't take it anymore
Life is a contact sport but I was destined for federal court.
When I die tonight I'll know I actually lived
Because most of us live life for the number of years
But I live it for the quality of them
Id rather live fast and fun to end short
Than to live long and do nothing
To be imprisoned in my own body
Giving myself my own life sentence.
So let tonight be the last
Drink everything that burns and bites
But now I taste blood from my nose
Running in a steady stream
Iv never felt so alive
Until I was dying.
Author's Note:
told from the POV a person in a group of friends who have decided that they just cant take this works anymore so they have gotten all sorts of drugs and alcohol and are going to overdose. PS. pogonip is a dense winter fog with ice fallingComments on "In the end"

"I've never felt so alive, until I was dying", that line on its own is just so poignant, even without the context of the piece as a whole, but the body lends well to the overall impact it has. It's unfortunate, that people find this to be the case, I've come to the crossroads of suicide with many of the same troubled thoughts...only I had the good fortune of making it back alive, if my life hadn't been touched in just the right way, I wouldn't be here leaving this comment. Thank you for bringing light to this sad reality.
