Burden

By Demyelinated

I guess you don't need closure
I guess you don't need anything
Having to do with me

There are so many things I could hear
In a certain time...
Who to blame,
What I did wrong
What I could fix
How you feel
What I should be doing

But it's all in the present,
In a darker, more solemn now...
That you simply don't need closure with me

That I can simply fade away
That you can forgive me
But that you can move on
Simply, and effectively, and simply with me

So these patterns emerge
And they are predictable
And I'm searching for something different
Some brand new patterns
Some brand new way that the statistics are blown wide open

And I can think about our past
And I can think about the good times
And I can beat myself up about the bad times

But it's all in the present,
In a darker, more solemn now...
That you simply don't need closure with me

That I can simply fade away
That you can forgive me
But that you can move on
Simply, and effectively, and simply without me
