Dark Endeavor (Part 1 of 3)

By Damon Tarloth

This Flows Better When Read At A Fast Pace...

Shroud of nothing, Lack of light.
Takes a toll, Total blight.
Everything that was, No longer here.
Memories gone, All unclear...

The pure beauty of today.
In a blink of an eye spreads decay.
Everything wilts, Fades, Painted with blame.
Whatever was good never stays the same...

Remember the past, Images flash.
Mentally stunned as memories clash.
As the blood runs, The tears will flow.
Alive today and dead tomorrow...

Afflictions strike the heart and soul.
Never healing, Sorrow takes its toll.
Time will pass, The stain will grow.
One was marred, The other will follow...

No longer the same, As your essence drains.
As hate replaces, Sustains, The darkness remains.
Once purity is scarred, It is forever!
There's no coming back from this Dark Endeavor...

Author's Note:

One of the first poems I ever wrote was called "Purely Tainted", but I have gotten multiple responses that it's just too long. So I broke it down into 3 parts and renamed them "Dark Endeavor". I have done a few additions and alterations...
