On a Personal Note

By closermike

So I know this is out the blue
Not to mention honest and true
But the bees keep on buzzing
And the birds keep on singing
Right to your lovley tune

I am writing this poem today
To explain to you in my way
How my heart skips a beat
Whenever you're around me

Yet it's just so hard to say..

But the question is drawing near
It's no longer a time for fear
My heart is telling me to go
But my brain has told me no

But if you say yes
I promise to do my best
To repay you the world
Now will you be my girl?

I read this in a cheeky, late 50's early 60's pop song kind of way. It's got a great melody and I truly think it could be a hit back then. I wish there was a way i could sing this to you and not feel like a crazy person in the comments, but...yeah, that's not going to happen. Bottom line, it made me feel good in a "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" kind of way.
