Ghost In The Attic

By SickSanityJenn

In the deep of the night they came
I awoke at the sound of my name
Surrounded by darkness holding me down
Their presence consuming all ambient sound
I tried to scream but they entered me
Shattering what was left of my sanity
Pushing their way into my mind
Distorting every sense of place and time
A legion of horrors they forced me to see
My only escape was to vacate my being
No more than a specter am I
My animated corpse left behind
Without eyes I see the monsters true forms
Demonic creatures, pitiless and deformed
Helpless I watch as my body decays
They use me up just to throw me away
Lost in a void, my pain can't relent
Trapped in this never ending torment
Souls oblivious to all but their own
Roaming the land, homeless and alone
My voiceless screams, only white noise
My body was only the demons play toy
An orb, a mist, just emotional static
I've become nothing more than a ghost in the attic
