Insanity

By vicimineo

Sitting in an empty room
the mad man all alone,
The cause of his destruction
is eternally left unknown.

They say society brought him
and left him there to die,
So he sits in his single room
not even asking why.

Not bars are placed upon his windows
no locks of any kind,
They only locks that ever existed
were kept deep within his mind.

They say he once was brave and bold
a noble sort of man,
But then one day he just seemed snap
and from his fears he ran.

But can you blame him for he's done
or say he's lost his mind,
For running from the loneliness
of a world to often unkind.

We're always seeking happiness
and never wanting pain,
But with our pleading and longing
hatred is all we gain.

So the question that I'm asking
is quite a puzzling one,
And is it called insanity
and from your fears you run.

Great poem. Epic. Seems like it was written by a famous poet.
