Lost Along The Way

By SickSanityJenn

Here I am on my own once again
Reaching out to you my only friend
I need your hope to guide me home
I can't fight these demons all alone
Born to a world of constant hate
Where every turn is another mistake
So much time spent wondering why
Torn up inside but unable to cry
A landfill of lies buried at my feetĀ
Too many promises I couldn't keep
I feel so withered and worn out
Tired of the drama and self doubt
My throat is sore from the screams
Waking up from fractured dreams
I feel like a stranger in my own skin
Only the mirror shows all of my sins
Hundreds of scars I don't regret
Each one a memory I'll never forget
Holding fast to remnants of my mind
A past of horror behind my eyes
And I will end as I once began
Suffering a life I don't understand
Twisted into a person I don't know
A wandering soul lost along the road

Thank you. I have been rather distant, detached and unable to feel or write much lately. It feels good to finally get something out
