Stranger with a familiar face

By SickSanityJenn

i realized I'm different
used to think i was the same
the person in the mirror
is a person i cant name
the heart is torn asunder
emotions spilling out
Ive become a stranger
in my very own house
i couldn't save myself
I'm drifting out to sea
the person in my memories
is a person i cant be
the anger carved in skin walls
i cant hide from the light
there was a time of peace
but now everything's a fight
Ive kept the darkness hidden
though a shadow lingers in my eyes
but you wouldn't know the difference
between the truth and all these lies
so now i stand debating
where to go from here
i turn for one last glance
at the memories i hold dear
the future that is awaiting
is uncertain and unclear
but im ready for the challenge
come what may, ill be here

What a persevering write, this, to me, is very motivational. There's just so much negativity around us, this is the kind of energy we need. Great write!
